Undergraduate Scholarships


    Scholarships may be applied for by downloading the application and following the instructions. Each academic year we award approximately $55,000 in undergraduate scholarships.
    One application covers all scholarships for all students in each department and are also available in hard copy in Gearing Hall, Room 115 at the beginning of each Spring Semester.
    Scholarships are awarded for the following academic year.

Applications for the 2008-2009 academic year will available during the first weeks of the Spring 2009 semester.

Gordon Clark Bennett Scholarship in Human Ecology
Eligibility: Students majoring in the Department of Human Ecology; awarded on basis of financial need and scholastic ability.

C.J. Davidson Scholarship
Eligibility: Preference given to female sophomore students majoring in the Department of Human Ecology. Based on character, leadership, personality, demonstrated financial need and scholastic performance. Scholarships are renewable.

Mary E. Gearing Scholarship
Eligibility: Students majoring in the Department of Human Ecology; awarded on basis of financial need and scholastic ability.

Mary E. Gearing Student Chapter Scholarship
Eligibility: Junior or senior student majoring in the Department of Human Ecology with at least 30 hours completed at U.T.-Austin; minimum GPA of 2.5.

Jack S. Gray, Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship
Eligibility: Undergraduate students in Human Development and Family Sciences, especially those with a focus working with children in the Priscilla Pond Flawn Child and Family Laboratory.

Louise Shelley Hewlett Brame Scholarship in Human Ecology
Eligibility: Senior student in the Department of Human Ecology.

The Carolyn Frost Keenan Endowed Scholarship in Human Ecology (Child Development)
Eligibility :Senior students in Human Development and Family Sciences

Martha Ann Goss McGonigle Scholarship in Child Development
Eligibility: Undergraduate students who are US citizens or permanent residents majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences, with a preference for students who are Texas residents with a demonstrated financial need.

Amanda Stoltzfus Scholarship from the Mary E. Gearing Estate
Eligibility Student majoring in the Department of Human Ecology; awarded on basis of financial need and scholastic ability.

Margaret Dunlap Thompson Endowed Presidential Scholarship in Human Ecology
Eligibility: Student majoring in the Department of Human Ecology; awarded on basis of financial need and scholastic ability.

Sonia Wolf Wilson Endowed Scholarship
Eligibility: Undergraduate students in the College of Natural Sciences, with a preference for students in the Department of Human Ecology and who are citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
