Dr. Kitt's area of interest is resource allocation
by families and individuals, with particular focus on the financial well-being
of families. She teaches personal finance and family resource management.
She received the 1995 Teacher of the Year award in Human Ecology, the
1993 Eyes of Texas Award, and the1993 Outstanding Journal Article award
from Financial Counseling and Planning Journal. In 2003, Dr. Kitt is President-Elect
of The Asssociation of Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE),
and will serve as President in 2004. She has been a Funded Consumer Representative
for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), which
developments insurance model legislation for states to implement.
