The Priscilla Pond Flawn Child
and Family Laboratory is a teaching and research program for young children
in The Department of Human Ecology's Division of Human Development and
Family Sciences that is available for use by faculty and students of the
University. The facility provides a population of young children who are
able to serve as participants in studies conducted by faculty and students
from around campus. We enroll 98 children between 18-months and 6-years-of-age
from the community at large. Children attend for a half-day preschool
experience Monday through Thursday. The program is accredited by The National
Academy of Early Childhood Programs with a developmentally appropriate
experience provided for all age groups.
With our outstanding working environment in the
Sarah
M. and Charles E. Seay Building, excellent research facilities in the
Peggy Dunlap Thompson wing are just steps away from classrooms. Parents
enroll children in the facility with the understanding that they and their
child will be invited to participate in a variety of research studies. We
have had excellent return rates from our families when soliciting participants.
